One uniquely experienced B2B agency
now serving smaller tech companies exclusively

Al Shultz had a long interest in the sciences, and he began college as a chemistry major. But then he discovered an additional talent, creative writing. He graduated with a degree in English, with a plan to teach writing at the college level. But there was more to come…

President/Creative Director

After graduation he relocated from Oregon to the San Francisco Bay Area where he found himself at the epicenter of a global technology explosion called Silicon Valley! He began creating marketing for technology companies – initially in their marketing departments, then in agencies, and ultimately starting his own agency.

And that’s when things really began to get interesting..

Developing smarter ways to do technology marketing

From the outset Al took a scientist’s perspective, constantly studying the marketing being done across the various technology sectors. In general, what he saw was a hodgepodge of different approaches with little consistent strategy. Generally, it had little power to convince and little bottomline effectiveness.

Some of the work seemed to be trying to copy consumer advertising tactics. Much of it was simply a rehash of generic sales pitches, with the tired old “buy-our-stuff-it’s-great” blah-blah-blah. Al knew that tech marketing could be done a lot more effectively. And he began making a science out of doing it right.

Over 40 years of doing it right

Clients recognized the impact and effectiveness of our work (see some of their comments at the bottom of this page), and over the years we have had the good fortune to work for many dozens of technology firms of all sizes, These have included some of the biggest names such as Applied Materials, Hamamatsu, Canon, Tencor, KLA, and more. A number of our clients remained with us for over a decade.

Recently, we have made the decision to narrow our focus and work exclusively for smaller tech companies. Why? Because with smaller organizations we are generally able to work directly with the key people. We get better information, quicker decisions, and we’re able to do superior work more easily. And bottom line, we just really enjoy helping smaller players to win against the bigger guys!
